Retractable paint booth: MKF series

The MKF series comprises mobile spray booths with a retractable enclosure for applying coatings to large products where floor space is limited. When folded, the enclosure takes up minimal space, and two workers can extend it manually in 2–3 minutes without special equipment. Air enters through filters built into the doors and is drawn through the working zone to the filter wall by the exhaust unit.

Mobile spray booths of the MKF series are designed for the application of primers, paints, enamels and varnishes on large products — machine parts, steel structures and industrial equipment — where floor space is limited. The key feature of the series is the retractable enclosure: when folded, it takes up minimal space, and two workers can extend it manually in 2–3 minutes without special equipment.
Products are loaded into the working zone by overhead crane, forklift or trolley. The booth has no air heating system, so the coating dries naturally; for painting and drying in the same booth, the MKFS series is available.

How the Booth Is Arranged
The enclosure is a retractable portal-type structure made of steel tubes and angles, covered with durable tarpaulin and mounted on wheels. The fixed rear wall is made of sandwich panels and houses the exhaust duct. When folded, the enclosure frees up floor space for other operations.

Air enters the booth through a supply-air filtration system built into the zippered doors, passes along the working zone and is removed by a centrifugal exhaust unit through the exhaust duct (filter wall). The airflow captures paint mist and overspray, and the exhaust filters retain them before the air is discharged. Uniform airflow around the product also promotes natural coating drying. The ventilation system is TWEKO’s own design.

Doors — double-leaf zippered doors with a built-in supply-air filtration system.
Ventilation — centrifugal exhaust ventilation unit with an electric motor and an exhaust duct (filter wall) with a set of filter frames.
Filtration — supply-air filtration system and a set of exhaust, supply and pre-filters.
Lighting — ceiling luminaires (2 or 3 per truss, depending on the booth width) and side luminaires (2 per post).
Control panel — with automation and monitoring functions.
Safety
The booth complies with international safety standards and national occupational health and safety regulations.
The enclosure and the complex are made of non-combustible materials.
Fans and key ventilation system components are provided in an explosion-proof design.
An automatic interlock cuts off the compressed-air supply to the spray guns if the ventilation stops.
As an option, the booth can be equipped with an automatic system that detects hazardous concentrations of flammable vapours and switches the ventilation to full power to remove them.
Custom Configuration
If required, the booth is manufactured to the customer’s individual technical specification. As options, it can be supplemented with an airflow control system based on a variable-frequency drive (up to 40% reduction in power consumption), a pneumatic painting equipment kit, an activated carbon exhaust-air treatment unit and a rail transfer cart for moving products between work areas.
