KFC Container-Type Paint Spray Booth

Pre-order

The KFC series comprises container-type paint spray booths. The equipment is installed inside a 40-foot shipping container and supplied factory-assembled and ready for installation, with ventilation, heating, filtration, lighting and control systems already fitted. No foundation, dedicated building or ductwork is required — the booth is placed on a level site and connected to the power supply and fuel line.

Booths of the KFC series are designed for applying paint coatings to products in industrial conditions without the need to construct a dedicated painting area. The key feature of the series is its **container design**: the equipment is mounted inside a 40-foot shipping container and supplied factory-assembled and ready for installation. This solution is intended for production facilities that require a fully functional paint spray booth but lack suitable indoor space, the ability to carry out construction work, or need to move the equipment between sites or facilities. The working area is designed for long products that are loaded lengthwise through the end doors.

How the Booth Is Arranged

The container is divided by a sandwich-panel partition into two zones. The larger part is occupied by the **working zone measuring 10,000 × 1,800 × 2,200 mm**: the walls and ceiling are insulated with non-combustible mineral wool and lined with metal sheet; loading is end-on through the standard container doors.

In the rear section there is a technical compartment housing the thermo-ventilation cabinet, burner, chimney, and control panel. Thanks to this arrangement, all equipment is protected by the housing, and no separate room for the ventilation unit, foundation, or duct network is required on site.

The exhaust ventilation units are mounted externally and fixed to the side wall of the booth, so the overall dimensions in working position are larger than the transport dimensions.

Microclimate and Airflow

Fresh air is drawn from outside through a grille in the wall of the technical compartment, filtered, heated in an indirect-heat exchanger, and supplied into the working zone through a ceiling structure with filter material along the entire length of the booth. The airflow passes through the working zone, capturing paint overspray particles, and is removed through a side filter wall with dry two-stage filtration of class EU3.

Behind the filter wall there are four exhaust ventilation units that discharge the filtered air outside without ducts. The ratio of supply and exhaust capacities creates **positive pressure** inside the booth, which prevents dust from outside from settling on the freshly painted surface. The degree of filter contamination is monitored by pressure sensors connected to the control panel.

Operating Modes

Spraying

Heated and filtered air is supplied through the ceiling and removed through the filter wall. The air in the working zone is completely renewed, preventing the accumulation of solvent vapours.

Purge

The working zone is ventilated after the application of paint material; solvent vapours are removed from the booth. The cycle duration is set by a timer on the control panel.

Temperature Control

A thermostat maintains the supply-air temperature set by the operator regardless of weather conditions, ensuring stable coating application conditions throughout the year.

Cooling

Heating is switched off while ventilation continues to operate — the working zone and the product cool down, after which the booth switches to standby mode.

The booth is intended for coating application and air drying at a controlled temperature. Accelerated drying at elevated temperatures is not provided in the basic configuration.

Construction

  • Housing — a 40-foot shipping container with reinforced welded frames at the points where ventilation equipment is installed. Corner fittings are retained, so the booth can be transported and handled with standard equipment.
  • Interior finish — walls insulated with non-combustible mineral wool on a wooden batten frame and lined with profiled metal sheeting; the ceiling is finished with galvanised sheet. The technical compartment is separated by a sandwich-panel partition.
  • Thermo-ventilation cabinet — a centrifugal supply unit with a 7.5 kW motor, a manually adjustable air-pressure damper, and a four-pass stainless-steel heat exchanger with a diesel burner and chimney.
  • Exhaust system — a filter wall consisting of four sections and four exhaust ventilation units with a total motor power of 8.8 kW, mounted on the side wall of the booth.
  • Filtration system — supply pre-filter, EU5 fine ceiling filters complete with frames, and dry two-stage exhaust filtration of class EU3.
  • Lighting — sealed industrial LED luminaires with IP65 protection rating, built into the ceiling structure along the entire length of the working zone.
  • Control panel — automation based on a programmable logic controller: thermostat, purge and spraying timers, hour meter, pressure and temperature sensors, main switch and lighting switch.

Safety

  • Insulation of the working zone is made of non-combustible mineral wool.
  • In spraying mode the air in the booth is completely renewed, preventing the formation of explosive concentrations of flammable substances.
  • Air heating is indirect: combustion products are discharged through the chimney and do not enter the working zone.
  • Pressure sensors monitor fan performance and the degree of filter contamination; temperature sensors shut down the equipment in case of overheating.
  • The working zone is equipped with fire extinguishers; two personnel doors measuring 1,100 × 2,000 mm are provided for emergency evacuation.
  • Optionally the booth can be fitted with a gas detection system for monitoring concentrations below the lower explosive limit (LEL) and an automatic fire-extinguishing system.

Site Preparation and Connection

The booth does not require a foundation or construction work. Before installation the customer provides:

  • Power supply — 380 V / 50 Hz electrical supply with 18 kW available power to the control panel with a separate circuit breaker; cable length 2,000 mm.
  • Diesel fuel — a tank in a safe location with heating for the cold season, a fuel line to the burner, and a fine filter upstream of the burner.
  • Installation conditions — power supply and compressed air available in the work area.

Utility connections, as well as earthing of the booth, are not included in the scope of delivery or installation works, but can be performed under a separate contract.

Custom Manufacture

KFC series booths are custom-manufactured. The length of the working zone, type of heating, door arrangement, automation package and additional safety systems are determined according to the customer’s technical specification.

Design documentation development time — up to 10 working days; manufacturing time — up to 40 working days; installation and commissioning — up to 7 working days. Warranty period — 12 months.
