Spray Booth for Vehicles in a Garage - Techservice WEKO LLC

TWEKO designed and implemented a spray booth for Individual Entrepreneur Semenyuk (Kyiv, Ukraine) in December 2010. The booth, integrated into an existing garage, with a roof-mounted thermo-ventilation unit, ensures high-quality application and drying of coatings for automotive repair work.

About the Client

Individual Entrepreneur Semenyuk operates in the automotive repair sector within the «Bereznyaky-2» garage cooperative (Kyiv, Bereznyakivska St., 25). To perform professional vehicle painting, the client required a compact spray booth integrated into an existing garage with limited space. TWEKO offers customized solutions for automotive repair shops — find out how to purchase a spray booth for your business!

Project Objectives

The goal of the project was to create a spray booth for automotive repair work by integrating it into an existing garage. The main requirements included:

  • Design of a spray booth with internal dimensions of 7×4×2.7 m, adapted to the garage space.
  • Placement of the thermo-ventilation unit on the roof to save internal space.
  • Ensuring a stable microclimate for high-quality coating application and drying.
  • Effective removal of paint mist using a filtration system.
  • Integration of exhaust air ducts into the garage’s concrete foundation.

TWEKO’s Solution: Spray Booth in a Garage

TWEKO developed a customized spray booth integrated into the existing garage. The booth, with internal dimensions of 7×4×2.7 m, uses the garage as its cabin, with the thermo-ventilation unit placed on the roof. Key components of the solution:

  • Booth Construction. The garage was adapted as the booth’s cabin with internal dimensions of 7×4×2.7 m. Walls were reinforced with insulation panels to protect against external factors and maintain a stable microclimate. The concrete foundation was equipped with built-in exhaust air ducts for effective paint mist removal.
  • Thermo-Ventilation Unit. Located on the roof, it includes supply and exhaust ventilation with a diesel burner for heating air up to 60°C. A vortex heat exchanger optimizes energy consumption, ensuring stable temperature for coating drying.
  • Filtration System. Two-stage filtration with activated carbon and ceiling filters ensures air purity in the working area, meeting automotive industry standards.
  • Lighting. The booth is equipped with fluorescent lights for high-quality illumination of the working area.
  • Control System. The control panel with automation regulates temperature, ventilation, and air recirculation via dampers, ensuring precise microclimate control.

The set was complemented by ceiling filter frames with mounting elements and filter material for uninterrupted operation. TWEKO delivered the project as a turnkey solution, including garage adaptation, installation of ventilation ducts, and equipment setup.

Implementation Process

The request from Individual Entrepreneur Semenyuk was received in August 2010. TWEKO conducted an analysis of the garage, considering space constraints and the need to place the thermo-ventilation unit on the roof.

After site measurements, a project for a spray booth was developed, tailored to automotive repair needs. The project involved using the garage as the cabin, integrating air ducts into the concrete foundation, and placing units on the roof.

  • Garage adaptation: reinforcing walls with insulation panels and integrating exhaust air ducts into the concrete foundation.
  • Installation of the thermo-ventilation unit on the roof with a diesel burner and vortex heat exchanger.
  • Integration of a two-stage filtration system with activated carbon.
  • Equipping the booth with lighting.

TWEKO provided a complete set of project documentation, including drawings for garage modification and equipment installation. Component manufacturing took place from September to November 2010. Installation and commissioning were completed in December 2010, ensuring the booth’s operation on schedule.

Results for the Client

  • Stable microclimate in the booth, ensuring high-quality coating application and drying for automotive repair work.
  • Effective paint mist removal due to two-stage filtration with activated carbon.
  • Space optimization due to the roof-mounted thermo-ventilation unit.
  • Comfortable and safe working conditions due to high-quality lighting.
  • Reliable integration of the booth into the garage with minimal modifications.

Client Feedback

The spray booth from TWEKO perfectly fit into our garage and enabled professional vehicle painting. The roof-mounted units saved space, and the system operates reliably and efficiently. Thank you for the customized approach!
