Paint Booth for Armored Vehicles - Techservice WEKO LLC

In September 2016, REFORM LLC, a manufacturer of armored vehicles from the Kyiv region, approached TWEKO with a request to create a paint and drying booth for painting heavy machinery. The TWEKO team designed, manufactured, and commissioned a paint and drying booth from the IKFS series with diesel heating and dual-motor ventilation. The project was completed in November 2016, ensuring high-quality painting of armored vehicles in accordance with all technical requirements.

About the Client

REFORM LLC, located in the Kyiv region, specializes in the development and production of specialized and armored vehicles. Established in 2011, the company is one of the leading players in Ukraine’s engineering industry, supplying high-quality products for commercial and defense sectors. In 2016, TWEKO became a partner of REFORM to modernize its painting facility, significantly improving the painting process for armored vehicles.

Project Objectives

The goal of the project was to create an efficient painting system for the production of armored vehicles by REFORM LLC. The main requirements included:

  • A paint and drying booth with powerful supply and exhaust ventilation to remove paint vapors.
  • Diesel air heating for stable operation during winter.
  • Equipment adaptation to the workshop conditions with a concrete foundation and high load capacity (up to 600 kg per 500×500 mm).
  • Completion of the project within a tight timeline — from September to November 2016.

TWEKO’s Solution

TWEKO developed a customized solution that included the installation of a paint and drying booth model IKFS-250 with the following specifications:

  • Working area dimensions: 10,310 × 5,160 × 5,000 mm — sufficient for handling large-sized equipment.
  • Ventilation: Dual-motor supply and exhaust system (two fans, each with 25,000 m³/h, 11 kW) ensures stable airflow.
  • Filtration system: Ceiling filters (45 m²) and floor cassettes (18 m²) effectively remove paint particles from the air.
  • Heating: Diesel heat exchanger with a burner and automatic fuel preheating — for reliable operation in winter.
  • Construction: Energy-efficient sandwich panels (80 mm, mineral wool), entry gates (3,500 × 3,500 mm), externally mounted thermal ventilation cabinet on a frame — for safety and maintenance.
  • Lighting: Fluorescent lights with an intensity of 1,000 lux for high-quality visual assessment of painting.

The setup was complemented by a control panel with automation (pressure switch, temperature sensors, thermostat, timer) and air ducts integrated into the concrete foundation.

Project Implementation

The request from REFORM LLC was received on September 13, 2016. The TWEKO team promptly prepared a commercial proposal and contract, which was signed on September 19. Manufacturing of the IKFS-250 paint and drying booth began on the same day. The equipment was adapted to the specifics of the production workshop, including the existing concrete foundation for exhaust air ducts. Installation work was completed in November, after which the booth was successfully commissioned. This allowed the client to start painting armored vehicles on schedule.

Results for the Client

  • Efficient painting of armored vehicles thanks to the IKFS-250 booth with 25,000 m³/h ventilation.
  • Stable operation in winter due to diesel heating with an automatic system.
  • High safety and ergonomics due to the external thermal ventilation cabinet and sandwich panels.
  • Optimal lighting (1,000 lux) and automated painting process control.
