In December 2014, Girami, a manufacturer of cabinet furniture with a modern approach to production organization, approached TWEKO with the need to provide localized exhaust ventilation for their painting section. The goal was to achieve effective removal of paint material vapors and reduce air pollution risks in the work area. TWEKO’s team designed, manufactured, and commissioned an extraction cabinet with dry filtration, ensuring safe working conditions during the application of paint coatings on furniture items. The project was completed in December 2014, meeting all client requirements.
About the Client
Girami LLC is a furniture factory located in Ukrainka, Kyiv region. The company specializes in producing furniture items, prioritizing quality and safety in technological processes. In 2014, Girami turned to TWEKO to equip their painting section, marking the start of a successful collaboration.
Project Objectives
The project aimed to create safe working conditions for operators in Girami LLC’s painting section. Key requirements included:
- An extraction cabinet with dry filtration for effective removal of paint vapors.
- An exhaust zone measuring 3000×2000 mm for working with furniture items.
- Minimization of noise from the ventilation system within the facility.
- Completion of the project within a tight timeline — from December 2014 to December 2014.
TWEKO’s Solution
TWEKO’s team proposed a tailored solution, considering the specifics of Girami LLC’s painting section and technological process:
- Extraction Cabinet for Painting with Dry Filtration — a frame made of profile pipes and angles, clad with sheet metal featuring a polymer powder coating.
- Exhaust Zone Size: 3000×2000 mm with two filter frames (2500×1000 mm each) and side collectors.
- Ventilation System: a centrifugal fan with a capacity of 10,000 m³/h, 2.2 kW motor. The unit is mounted externally on a vibration-damping frame to reduce noise.
- Two-Level Filtration: labyrinth cardboard filter + fiberglass filter. Cleaning efficiency — up to 95% (EU4).
The equipment reduces the load on the general ventilation system and significantly improves operator working conditions. The solution is ideal for manual painting zones for furniture, carpentry, or metal parts.
Project Execution
The request from Girami LLC was received in early December 2014. TWEKO’s team developed a technical solution, accounting for the specifics of the client’s painting section. Equipment manufacturing began in the same month, with installation completed by the end of December 2014. Detailed measurements of the facility were conducted to ensure optimal cabinet placement. Installation included mounting the ventilation system on an external wall to reduce noise and integrating it with the existing workshop infrastructure.
Results for the Client
- Effective extraction of paint vapors with a capacity of 10,000 m³/h.
- Safe working conditions due to a two-level filtration system.
- Minimized noise in the facility thanks to the external placement of the ventilation unit.
- Optimized workspace in the painting section.
