Diagonal Paint Booth for an Industrial Enterprise - Techservice WEKO LLC

At the customer’s request, TWEKO implemented a turnkey project: designed, manufactured, and installed an IKFS Diagonal paint and drying booth, model IKFS-D-10, with a diagonal airflow system and diesel heating. Just a month and a half after signing the contract, we completed the full cycle — from technical specification analysis to commissioning — adapting the booth to the specific requirements of the facility. We provided the customer with a modern, safe, and fully equipped solution for painting large-scale equipment.

About the Client

An industrial company specializing in servicing large-scale equipment approached TWEKO with an official request for the supply of a modern paint and drying booth. The customer set several technical requirements, including diesel heating, the ability to install under a canopy, compliance with safety standards, and effective painting of machinery of various sizes.

Project Objectives

The aim of the project was to provide a paint and drying booth that met the technical specifications of the tender documentation. Key requirements:

  • Purpose: painting large-sized items (working area no less than 10000×5000×5000 mm).
  • Dead-end booth with a diesel burner, air capacity not less than 30,000 m³/h.
  • Placement in an existing structure on a 6×12 m platform under an open canopy.
  • Gate (4000×4000 mm) with personnel door, fire damper, air inlet/outlet duct sets, and chimney.
  • Panels at least 50 mm thick made of non-combustible material, ceiling lighting (min. 800 lux), exhaust and air filtration system.
  • Operation in two-shift mode at temperatures from +5°C to +40°C and humidity up to 95%.
  • Training for three personnel with certification and a 12-month warranty service.

TWEKO’s Solution

TWEKO offered the IKFS-D-10 model from the IKFS Diagonal series. The diagonal airflow ensures even air distribution, reduces turbulence, and guarantees quality coating application for large-scale machinery in a 10000×5000×5000 mm working area.

The booth is equipped with a diesel burner, exhaust ventilation with air filtration, ceiling lighting (800 lux), and a maximum power of up to 250 kW. For safety, a fire damper is installed, and the body is made of 50 mm thick non-combustible panels certified for fire safety. The dead-end booth features a 4000×4000 mm gate, personnel door, air ducts for intake and exhaust, and a chimney. Air ducts were routed through window openings to reduce installation costs.

The package includes ANEST IWATA W 400 BELLARIA spray guns (1.3 mm and 1.4 mm, 2 pcs each), ITALCO LVMP (1.3 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.8 mm, 2 pcs each), hoses (20 m and 15 m, 2 and 4 pcs respectively), ITALCO AC6003 air prep units (2 pcs), and ITALCO FR5 pressure regulators (2 pcs). The booth operates on a 380/220 V, 50 Hz power supply, and is equipped with automation for operation mode control, runtime tracking, and fault detection, along with an air prep unit with fine filters. The equipment has undergone factory metrological certification. TWEKO provided a complete documentation set in Ukrainian, including passport, operation manual, safety guidelines, electrical schematics, error codes, and foundation drawings.

Project Implementation

The request was received at the end of July 2024. In mid-August, TWEKO won the tender and signed the contract in early September. In September, engineers measured the site, accounting for the inspection pit and specifics of the removable canopy, and then approved the technical documentation.

By late October, sandwich panels and duct systems were manufactured and delivered to the site in full. TWEKO arranged power and compressed air connections, adapting the booth to site conditions. Installation and commissioning were performed by TWEKO specialists using a crane and loader provided by the customer. The booth was protected with film before the canopy was installed. After completion, TWEKO trained three operators, issued certificates, and provided a 12-month warranty. The booth was commissioned on schedule.

Customer Results

  • High-quality painting of equipment thanks to diagonal airflow and 30,000 m³/h capacity.
  • Safety ensured by fire damper and certified non-combustible panels.
  • Complete setup: spray guns, hoses, and air prep units ensure efficient operation.
  • Cost optimization by routing air ducts through window openings.
