In 2006, Bona Dea LLC approached TWEKO with a request to develop a paint booth for applying and drying coatings on interior doors and furniture. The TWEKO team designed and manufactured a paint booth with dry filtration and electric heating, tailored to the client’s production conditions. The project was completed in November 2006, ensuring high-quality coatings and operational efficiency.
About the Client
Bona Dea LLC is a furniture factory based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The company specializes in manufacturing interior doors from solid wood with various finishes (patination, oil coating, and painting with high-quality coatings), as well as kitchen furniture from solid wood and MDF, wall and ceiling panels, sliding wardrobes, cabinets, dressers, and facades.
Project Objectives
The project aimed to create a paint booth for high-quality application and drying of coatings on interior doors and furniture. Key requirements included:
- A paint booth with dry filtration to ensure clean working conditions.
- Electric heating for painting and drying modes.
- Installation on a flat floor without underground air ducts.
- Internal booth dimensions of 6×4×2.5 m to accommodate various product sizes.
TWEKO’s Solution
TWEKO developed a customized solution, including:
- Paint booth with dry filtration. The 6×4×2.5 m booth features an extraction cabinet in the side wall. A two-stage filtration system with a ceiling plenum and G5 fine filters ensures air purification from fine dust particles. The airtight cabin with positive pressure prevents contamination. The 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel body meets safety standards.
- Thermal ventilation cabinet with electric heat exchanger. Equipped with TWEKO’s proprietary thick-film metal-ceramic heaters, providing temperatures of 16–24°C in painting mode and 16–60°C in drying mode. Airflow is 10,000 m³/h. Double sliding doors (2×2.5 m) ensure convenient access.
The booth is installed on a flat floor without underground ducts, with side air extraction through the cabinet. The system includes LED lighting (4×18 W) and temperature and pressure control.
Project Implementation
The request from Bona Dea LLC was received in early 2006. TWEKO prepared a commercial proposal based on the booth size and facility conditions. After on-site measurements (Kurenivskyi Lane 17, Kyiv), the feasibility of installation without underground ducts was confirmed. Manufacturing of components, including the body, extraction cabinet, and thermal ventilation system, was completed in autumn 2006. Installation and commissioning were finalized in November 2006, enabling timely operation.
