The needs of the aviation industry require high precision and quality at every stage of production. Our company has developed a unique painting and drying booth that meets the highest standards of the aviation industry. This booth was created for the Antonov plant and is successfully used for painting wings and other large parts of aircraft.
History
In 2006, our company, the factory “Techservis VEKO and Partner GmbH,” was tasked with developing a specialized booth for curing and drying for the aviation industry. The order was made to maintain aircraft wings and other critical assemblies produced at the Antonov plant. The project required exceptionally precise technical solutions to achieve high standards in aviation manufacturing.
High requirements for painting work
Increased customer demands were due to the need to ensure uniform airflow throughout the booth and a maximally stable temperature in all parts of the booth for curing. These parameters must be maintained with consistent stability for 20-30 hours of its operation. The challenge lies in keeping airflow and temperature stable. This, in turn, requires a responsible approach to work, high-quality components, and carefully designed assemblies with thorough control after development and assembly.
All operational parameters of the equipment are recorded and logged in real-time by a six-channel recorder and archived for many years of aircraft operation. All the requirements set by the customer have been met. The aircraft painting and drying booth operates in standard mode and continues to this day.
Uniqueness of the booth
- Control system: A six-channel recorder records all parameters in real-time and provides precise control over the painting process.
- Temperature regulation precision: Stable temperature is maintained throughout the booth area, ensuring uniform polymerization of aircraft components.
- Materials used: The booth is made from high-quality materials that prevent temperature fluctuations and ensure long-lasting construction.
Technical specifications
Aircraft painting and drying booth (for curing polymer coatings), with internal dimensions of 12x5x3 meters, featuring strict temperature-time regimes, air heating via an electric heat exchanger.
- Air heating system with two electric heat exchangers, each with a capacity of 70 kW.
- Stable temperature throughout the booth area for extended periods. The temperature regime is maintained at 70°C ± 5°C.
- Product dwell time in the booth: 16-18 hours.
- Booth operating modes are controlled by an eight-channel recorder that records parameters on a paper medium in real-time.
- Dry air filtration system for dust and paint particle removal.
Project outcome
All customer requirements were successfully met. The aircraft painting and drying booth continues to operate successfully at the Antonov plant. Its operation fully meets the requirements of the aviation industry and ensures high-quality painting and curing of critical aviation components.
