The history

history of TWEKO company

History of TWEKO Company — a Ukrainian-German joint venture, Techservice VEKO & Partner GmbH, founded on October 7, 1992. The company’s initial activities included vehicle maintenance, the sale of automotive spare parts, and equipment for service stations.

Launch of automotive lift production

In 1994, driven by rapid growth in the automotive market and the emergence of numerous service stations, the company decided to begin manufacturing automotive lifts. Between 1994 and 2002, more than 350 electromechanical lifts were produced. The most popular models — Kashtan 4.0 t and Eney 3.0 t — are still widely used by automotive service centers today.

Manufacture of the first AKFS series automotive paint and drying booth

In 1997, the first AKFS series paint and drying booth for automobiles was manufactured. Key components were produced in-house, while certain parts were sourced from Italy. Within just two years, the company achieved full-cycle production of paint booths in Ukraine. This equipment category remains the core focus of TWEKO’s product portfolio to this day.

Development of a new electric heat exchanger

We continuously develop and implement innovative technologies. In 2003, this led to the introduction of a unique energy-saving system for air heating in paint booths — an electric heat exchanger utilizing flat thick-film metal-ceramic heaters. The exchanger design, heater placement, and radiator configuration were specifically engineered for painting applications. This solution can reduce electricity consumption by up to 50% compared to conventional tubular electric heaters.

Techservice VEKO equipment in operation across Ukraine’s industrial regions

Our company has grown steadily, and by 2007 Techservice VEKO equipment was in use throughout Ukraine’s industrial regions. That same year, we received our first order from State Enterprise Antonov — a drying and ventilation chamber, marking our entry into the aviation sector. Later, similar units were supplied to Civil Aviation Plants No. 410 and No. 420. The Antonov chamber measures 14 × 5 × 3 m and is used for vulcanizing polymer coatings on aircraft wings, with precise operator-set temperature control in the 20–70 °C range and maximum deviations of ±5 °C.

First project for a major railway rolling stock manufacturer

In 2011, as Ukraine’s economy recovered from the global financial crisis and the railway rolling stock market began to expand, we received an order from PJSC Diesel Plant (Kropyvnytskyi) to build a paint and drying chamber for railway freight cars. This was our first project in the rolling stock industry and our largest chamber to date — 32 × 6 × 6 m — designed for simultaneous painting of two freight cars.

Years of growth in railway rolling stock manufacturing

From 2011 to 2014 — a period of rapid expansion in Ukraine’s railway rolling stock industry — we manufactured five paint and drying chambers for railcars:

  • chamber for the diesel plant;
  • chamber for PJSC Donetskstal;
  • chambers with electric air heating;
  • two 20 × 7 × 6 m chambers for SE Ukrspetsvagon, each equipped with integrated lifting and traversing platforms for operators;
  • a paint and drying chamber for passenger railcars at the Tbilisi railway depot.

Production of the first abrasive blasting booth

In 2015, despite the challenges of the military-political crisis in Ukraine, we expanded our product range to include abrasive blasting booths (KASO series). The first unit was delivered to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Along with the blasting booth, the package included paint and drying booths as well as rail-guided transport trolleys with integrated lifting mechanisms.

Opening of a new production facility

In 2016, we commissioned a new production site housing blanking and welding areas, an electrical panel assembly shop, a mechanical machining section, and warehouses for materials and components. With over 500 m² of space and an overhead crane, the facility enables the manufacture of larger, more complex products as well as the development and testing of new equipment.

Modernization of production processes and product line

2017 marked a major upgrade: we revised the entire product range, sourcing components exclusively from leading European manufacturers. Paint booth production technology was modernized, service life was extended, thermal ventilation units received improved aesthetics, and a new line of modular thermal ventilation units was introduced.

Commissioning of an additional production workshop

In 2018, we built a 320 m² additional workshop where we installed a new paint and drying booth and set up our in-house painting area. The upgraded equipment significantly enhanced paint coating quality and overall product standards. This facility allows us to refine painting techniques for new products and substantially increases production capacity.

Turnkey industrial solutions for manufacturing plants

2019 was the year of comprehensive turnkey projects. One major undertaking was the reconstruction of the painting facility at Zaporizhzhia Foundry-Mechanical Plant LLC (part of Metinvest Group). We developed the full technological process for coating application and drying, including research, design, equipment manufacturing, civil works, utility connections (up to 800 kW power and 16 m³/h compressed air), installation, and commissioning with all required permits. To optimize the painting area, we supplied a complete system: an abrasive blasting booth, a paint and drying booth, rail-guided trolleys, a paint preparation room, and a set of lifting/traversing platforms for painters. The system was designed for metal structures up to 12 × 3 × 3 m. Also in 2019, we delivered a turnkey coating line for oversized metal structures, comprising:

  • an automatic jet-flood washing booth;
  • a surface preparation booth;
  • a painting booth;
  • a sintering oven with an overhead conveyor.

Brand development and company history

The history of TWEKO reflects our belief that the foundation of a nation’s prosperity lies in manufacturing, value-added production, and industrial entrepreneurship. A thriving economy requires active business development, underpinned by freedom, protection of private property, and the rule of law.

That is why, in 2019, we joined the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP) — a step that elevated our brand through knowledge-sharing with successful business leaders and provided the security of belonging to a strong community.

In 2022 we became members of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU), gaining stronger advocacy with government bodies. With FEU support, we secured a production development grant in 2023, enabling the purchase of a state-of-the-art laser metal-cutting machine.

In 2024 we were granted critically important enterprise status for the national economy, allowing us to reserve key personnel from mobilization — especially those frequently traveling for equipment installation, commissioning, and service. Many of our clients are already FEU members, opening valuable networking opportunities within Ukraine’s industrial community — both online and at forums, meetings, and international exhibitions. Thanks to FEU backing, we exhibited at Agromek 2024 in Denmark, presenting our solutions and connecting with leading local manufacturers.

In 2025 TWEKO products were included in the state “National Cashback” program list (source: kmu.gov.ua), confirming our high localization level and eligibility for state support of Ukrainian manufacturers. This gives our customers additional financial incentives when choosing domestically produced equipment.
